This work has been fixed with acrylic fixative which protects the pastel painting. However useing a fixative does affect the finished colour and so some of the image's liveliness can be lost.

Shown in full green dress uniform and Caubeen the officer wears the ' Order of St Patrick ' and blue feather hackle.
