other famous irish regiments
As the season starts, i thought it would be nice to create a page and include some photographs taken at various shows this year ( 2008 ) The below pictures were taken at the Flixton Air Museum on the 4th of May, Ed decided to call this " Operation ham and jam ". Ed and Chris had just recently joined us and this was our first event this year. It was a relaxed day and a good event.
and Ed skillfully drives past enemy patrols
Chris takes everything in his stride..
" Mr Nazi, would ye like some feckin Irish baked potatoes amongst Ye, and an Irish boot
and bayonet up ya backside? " Faugh-a-Ballagh, Clear the Way, the Irish are coming!!
Destination reached and its time to relax, break out the tea and rations, enjoy the company and have the ' Craic '
Both Tom (left) and Ron (right ) are 'Honoury'members of the group. Both are ex-service men, as you can see from the creases in their trousers!! Tom ( ex-Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers ) met us at Flixton dressed as a private of the London Irish Rifles. And Ron( ex- Royal Irish Fusiliers ) sent me this photograph of his day out at Methringham Airfield Open day. Dressed as a member of the Parachute Regiment ( which Ron was also a member of ).Both stand proudly in front of their ww2 Willis Jeeps. You can read more about Tom and Ron on the Faugh-a-Ballagh page. Enjoying ourselves is what it is all about, enjoying each others company and having a laugh..so if you would like to come along and join us ( we have no age limit and membership is free ) then just drop me a line..all the best ' Mad Paddy '
